When we started Pigtails last year, that was the first, and most common question. The shortest answer is "I'm not really sure." Here's the longer one:
I started entering food competitions last year, and quickly realized most of the competitors have teams, logos, shirts, and all sorts of other stuff. Laney thought we needed a team name, even though we didn't really have a team. At the next competition, our youngest daughter was standing with me, with her hair in pig tails, and here we are. While the competitions are a lot of fun, and we have made some great friends and gone to some really cool places, I didn't want it to be just that. We expanded it to catering, private events, meal prep, personal chef services, and brand ambassadorship. Hopefully there is a food truck in our future.
This is for my kids. Granted, it is also a way to chase a dream, and hopefully supplement our income, but it's primarily for the kids. I want them to find something they think is worth working for, and run with it. For me, it's food. For them, it doesn't matter what it is, as long as they feel passionate enough to learn a skill, and work toward a goal. I hope to instill the sense of supporting people in our community as much as possible, as so many have done for us.
